What's Included in a Wake Boat Charter (and What to Bring)

Booking your first captained charter? Here's precisely what's included on the boat, what you should pack, and what to leave at home for a smooth day on the water.

If you've never chartered a private wake boat before, the most common question — right after price — is simply, "What do I actually need to bring?" The short version: a swimsuit, a towel, and a good attitude. But a little planning makes a great day even better, so here's a complete rundown of what's included when you book a captained charter with us on Lake Osborne, Lake Ida, or the Intracoastal, and exactly what to pack.

What's included in every charter

Our charters are all-inclusive on the things that matter, so you're never nickel-and-dimed on the water. Every trip comes with:

What to bring

Keep it simple. Here's the checklist that covers 95% of groups:

What to leave at home

A few things that cause more trouble than they're worth: glass bottles, red-dye drinks that stain upholstery, and oversized hard coolers if you're a big group — check with us on space first. And leave the stress at the dock; that's our job to handle.

Bringing kids or a big family group?

Wake-boat days are fantastic for families — tubing is a hit with every age, and we've got smaller vests and gentle-speed tube rides for the little ones. If you're planning a family weekend around it, Macaroni KID West Palm Beach is a great local resource for kid-friendly events to fill out the rest of your trip. Launch points near John Prince Park on Lake Osborne make loading up an easy, low-stress start to the day.

Logistics: where you meet and how it flows

Once you book, we'll confirm your exact departure point based on the water we're running that day — one of the lakes or an Intracoastal launch near a marina like Boynton Harbor Marina. Arrive a few minutes early, meet your captain, stow your cooler, and you're off. A half-day gives you plenty of time to surf, board, tube, and hit a sandbar to swim; a full-day adds lunch on the water and a sunset finish.

Danny Bivins — Owner & Captain

I own and captain a MasterCraft X30 out of Lantana and ride Lake Osborne, Lake Ida and the Intracoastal just about every week. This guide comes from actually owning, riding and chartering these boats here — not a content mill. Questions, or want to come ride? Text me at (561) 475-8615 or book a charter.

Frequently asked

What is included in a wake boat charter?+

Everything you need: a licensed captain, the surf boat and fuel, all water-sports gear (wakesurf boards, wakeboards, ropes, and tubes), Coast Guard-required life vests, and hands-on coaching. You just bring swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and your own food and drinks.

What should I bring on a wake boat charter?+

Swimsuits, towels, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, plenty of water, and a cooler with non-glass food and drinks. A dry bag for phones and keys is smart, plus cash if you'd like to tip your captain.

Can I bring my own food and alcohol?+

Yes, bring a cooler with whatever your group enjoys, as long as containers are non-glass. Keep the boat clean of staining drinks, and always have plenty of water for the Florida heat.

Are wake boat charters good for kids and families?+

Absolutely. Tubing is a favorite for all ages, and we carry smaller life vests and offer gentle tube rides for younger children. Launch points near John Prince Park make family loading easy.
